I had a Dream

I had a Dream

I had a dream last night that you were dead

And I was running, frightened through the woods.

The intermittent light from overhead

Afforded by the disapproving moon.

The angry wind ripped past the twisted trees.

The sky threw stones of water in my face

And devastated I fell to my knees,

But tears could not release me from my guilt.

And when I woke and found you sound asleep,

Relief embraced me like a long-lost friend.

You made a promise that you failed to keep’

It is my duty to take my revenge.

And now I place my hands around your neck,

Determined that I shall not fail this time,

I softly squeeze until you gasp for breath.

No one shall have you if you won’t be mine.
