Alone at Christmas

A small Christmas tree
Tended with care
No one to admire it
It doesn’t seem fair

One Christmas present
But not for you
Wrapped up for a good friend
Who you won’t see soon.

The table is set
Cracker for one.
A limp turkey sandwich
You’ll eat all alone.

Alone on the couch
You watch the t.v.
For all of Christmas it’s
Your sole company.
